Minnesota Democrat Collin Peterson, chairman of the House Ag Committee, says Congress needs to consider requiring gasoline blends containing 15% ethanol rather than 10% to overcome the “blend wall.”

With consumption barely keeping pace with rising production, supporters of corn-based ethanol are lobbying the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to approve the use of gasoline containing more than 10% ethanol. Other than E85 for flex-fuel vehicles, that's the current EPA limit. The state of California limits ethanol blends to only 5.7%
