Floodwaters have caused more than $1 billion in ag damage in Nebraska and CNN reports numerous rivers in the southeastern United States are pouring over their banks.
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds put a $1.6 billion price tag on damages caused by flooding, according to the Des Moines Register.
In South Dakota, the Big Sioux River is expected to crest today (March 25). In Minnesota, Gov. Tim Walz joined residents of Hastings to fill sandbags on March 23.
In Louisiana, Gov. John Bel Edwards declared a state of emergency Friday (March 22) due to flooding. In Tennessee, the Mississippi River is forecast to crest Wednesday (March 27) at the fourth-highest crest recorded there. In Mississippi, farmers were using bulldozers to build levees north of Vicksburg.
