The Dairyland Youth Celebration, held Aug. 5 at Wisconsin State Fair Park, celebrated the accomplishments of the nearly 600 exhibitors who participated in the junior dairy and junior dairy goat shows at the 2017 Wisconsin State Fair.

Presented by the Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board, the event was sponsored by: AgSource, American Wood Fibers, Andis Co., Animart, Brown Swiss Canton I, Coburn Co., Compeer Financial, Culver’s, East Central Select Sires, Giant Slide, Nasco, Prairie Farms Dairy, Sendik’s Fine Foods, Swiss Valley Farms, Valero, Vita Plus, We Energies, Wisconsin Agricultural and Life Sciences Alumni Association,Wisconsin Ayrshire Breeders Association, Wisconsin Brown Swiss Association, Wisconsin Brown Swiss Juniors, Wisconsin Dairy Goat Association, Wisconsin Jersey Breeders Association, Wisconsin Junior Holstein Association, Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, Wisconsin Milking Shorthorn Breeders Association, Wisconsin State Fair, Wisconsin State Fair Park Foundation, and World Dairy Expo.

The supreme champion cow of the Wisconsin State Fair Junior Dairy Show was the champion Jersey cow, Adams Creek Knockout Jitter, exhibited by Kate Nuttleman of LaCrosse County. Nuttleman received a $1,000 cash prize.

The reserve supreme champion cow was the champion Holstein cow, Smith-Crest-TW SH Virgie-ET, exhibited by Paul Grulke of Dodge County. Grulke also received a $1,000 cash prize.

The supreme champion heifer of the Wisconsin State Fair Junior Dairy Show was the champion Holstein heifer, Budjon-Abbott Alexandra-ET, exhibited by Kaelyn Weigel of Grant County. Weigel received a $500 cash prize.

The reserve supreme champion heifer was the champion Red and White heifer, Crescentmead Dukn Donut-Red, exhibited by Grady Wendorf of Dodge County. Wendorf also received a $500 cash prize.

The supreme champion showperson was 13-year-old Aaliyah Borchert of Wood County. Borchert received a $1,000 cash prize.

The best doe in the show from the Wisconsin State Fair Junior Dairy Goat Show was exhibited by Taelyn Smith of Walworth County, while the supreme champion showperson was 19-year-old Esther Considine of Columbia County. Each received a $1,000 cash prize.
