It’s June Dairy Month and thousands of visitors won’t be making the drive to area dairy farms for annual open houses due to COVID-19.

Consumers and farmers looked forward to these events to share all things dairy.

A handful of dairy farm organizations are hosting alternative events. On Facebook, Goodhue County, Minn., Dairy Farmers have teamed up with KCUE Radio and local businesses to sponsor an annual Breakfast on the Farm event to celebrate June Dairy Month. They are also hosting their first-ever Drive Thru Dairy Experience on June 19, from 7-11 a.m.

The Huneke family dairy, 25409 County 16 Blvd., Goodhue, will host visitors and showcase live animals, a farm tour, name-a-calf contest, agricultural education and free dairy goodies without leaving your car.

In celebration of Minnesota dairy farmers, The Farmer magazine is opening its “photo album” of past events and sharing a short slideshow of previous dairy breakfasts and open houses on farms.

Enjoy!
