Seefeldt, immediate past WMMB chair, steps up to serve the industry on the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board.

ON THE BOARD: The National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDB) was formed in May 1984 under the authority of the Dairy Production Stabilization Act of 1983.

Connie Seefeldt has been appointed as vice chair of USDA’s National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDB).

Seefeldt of Coleman, Wis, will serve a one-year term in this role for the NDB. She also represents dairy farmers in Wisconsin’s District 2 on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and previously served as the board chair for five years.

“Connie will be an outstanding officer to serve on the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board,” says WMMB CEO Chad Vincent. “She is stepping up as a leader in our industry during a time when dairy farmers need the support. Connie is an active and engaged member on the WMMB board. We are confident that she can be a voice for Wisconsin dairy farmers at the national level.”

The 37-member NDB, formed in May 1984 under the authority of the Dairy Production Stabilization Act of 1983, carries out coordinated promotion and research programs to help build demand, and expand domestic and international markets for dairy products.

The WMMB board of directors is comprised of 25 dairy farmers who are elected by their peers for three-year terms. WMMB’s directors set policies and procedures, supervise business affairs, and approve annual budgets. To learn more about Seefeldt and other WMMB directors, visit wmmb.com.
