Currently, the Virginia Ag Expo set for Aug. 6 at Bleak House Farm will be held as originally planned.
Expo Manager Jeff Whitaker says fingers are crossed that the Coronavirus crisis will be over by August. “Our hope is that the lockdown will be over and people will feel safe enough to come out. Registration opened in March and we have a little more than 30 vendors already confirmed,” Whitaker noted in an email message to Southeast Farm Press.
The 2020 Virginia Ag Expo will be hosted by the Downing Family at Bleak House Farm, a Virginia Century Farm in Lottsburg, Virginia, on August 6, 2020. Bleak House Farm is a diversified operation with annual production of over 2,500 acres of corn, soybeans, wheat, barley, and sweet corn
The Virginia Ag Expo is the largest agricultural field day held in the Commonwealth of Virginia annually. Over 140 exhibitors and sponsors will have on display all of the most up to date equipment, goods and services for all agricultural producers and property owners no matter how large or small.
“This event is free to the public so come on out and join us for a fun filled day. There will be food vendors onsite, a play area for kids, and lots of giveaways. If you would like to be an exhibitor or if you need more info email [email protected],” Whitaker says.
The Virginia Ag Expo is sponsored by Virginia Grain Producers Association and Virginia Soybean Association, in cooperation with Virginia Cooperative Extension Service.
