Getting a potato crop off to a solid start and maintaining the plants' health are big jobs, given the crop's susceptibility to disease. Syngenta has launched CruiserMaxx Vibrance Potato insecticide-fungicide seed treatment, which was recently registered by the U.S. EPA.
The multipart seed treatment package includes the company's Vibrance Rooting Power product, which was designed specifically as a seed treatment. The product has shown it can enhance root development in crops. The new product includes three fungicides for taking on Rhizoctonia, Helminthosporium and Fusarium. The three fungicides include sedaxane, fluidioxonil and difenoconazole.
And the Cruiser insecticide treatment protects against Colorado potato beetles, aphids, potato leafhopper and potato psyllid.
In announcing the new product, Kris Pauna, Seedcare commercial product lead, Syngenta, commented: "This combination will help potato growers enhance germination, increase vigor and improve stand establishment, while improving size and tuber distribution to maximize quality yields."
CruiserMaxx Vibrance Potato aids in wound healing and suberization. The product has solid handling and application characteristics in all temperatures and treating conditions. It has low dust-off without the need for added polymers or additives.
