The Around Farm Progress podcast takes on two diverse topics this week – challenges facing corn farmers at harvest; and your farm's cyber risk.

Sometimes a podcast covers more than a single topic. That's the case this week as we dig into the growing threat of stalk rot, talk about the potential for harvest losses, then shift to discuss cyber risk on your farm.

We open talking with Tom Bechman, editor, Indiana Prairie Farmer, about his observations concerning the growing threat of stalk rot, which essentially calls for one action – fire up the combine before a windstorm hits. But Tom also talks about managing harvest losses, and how this year's corn crop could challenge the best combine operators.

Next on the podcast is a discussion with Ken Grothe, assistant vice president treaty division and product manager for precision ag at HSB Insurance, to discuss cyber risk. Given the ransomware news that hit Iowa this week, considering ways to protect your farm data is important. And we offer some tips to keep people from getting access to your information.

Give it a listen.
