Sinton, Texas: tools for budgeting and insurance decision and 2019 crop insurance options to be discussed.

Risk management workshop available for producers Oct. 3, Sinton, Texas.

Agricultural producers looking for answers related to today’s commodity prices should plan to attend the South Texas Risk Management Workshop Oct. 3 in Sinton, said program coordinators.

 The workshop, presented by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service offices in Nueces and San Patricio Counties, will be from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the San Patricio County Fairgrounds, 219 W. 5th St. 

“Those who attend will receive in-depth and hands-on training by AgriLife Extension experts relating to a variety of risk management concerns,” said Jason Ott, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent, Nueces County. 

Ott said topics to be addressed at the workshop will include budgeting tools, insurance decision tools, 2019 crop insurance options and marketing strategies. There also will be presentations on the outlook for grain and cotton markets.
