What barriers do you face when it comes to data?

Input needed

An unprecedented amount of data is being collected on soybean fields thanks to advances in sensing technologies and cost-efficient computing, yet these data are rarely used to their full potential. Extension is uniquely positioned to fill gaps that industry cannot by providing educational support to soybean producers so they can learn how to (1) leverage concepts and tools needed to keep pace with the data revolution and (2) use private and public data assets when making decisions for their business. Researchers at NC State University are partnering with Extension and the United Soybean Board to develop initial training materials for a “Data Science Extension” project.

Participants in this research study will inform our understanding of what data soybean producers use, what barriers soybean producers face when using data, and what Data Science training topics are of interest to soybean producers as they make decisions about their operations.

Survey responses will directly inform future Data Science Extension training materials for soybean producers. Your participation in this research study is voluntary and is not a requirement or expectation of any relationship you may have with any member of the research team, NC State University, or of the United Soybean Board.
