SPUD ITINERARY: Participants will make their way to Oregon to start the program and then travel to Washington, D.C.

Expand your knowledge of US potato production and the key issues facing the industry as a participant of the 2019 Potato Industry Leadership Institute on Feb. 20-28.

“The program provides an opportunity to broaden your perspective related to how other farms operate [and] how the industry works together, and provides a great opportunity to expand your network within the U.S. potato industry,” says Joe Luana of Walther Farms, Michigan’s 2018 participant.

Participants will make their way to Oregon to start the program and then travel to Washington, D.C., to join others from Michigan attending the National Potato Council’s DC Fly-in.

The Michigan Potato Industry Commission has funding for two participants for the program in 2019. The MPIC funding positions are open to growers and their employees, shippers, and industry partners. Registration forms should be completed and returned to MPIC, at emailing [email protected], faxing to 517-253-7373, or mailing to 3515 West Road, Suite A, East Lansing, MI 48823 no later than Oct. 12.

The program is a joint venture of the National Potato Council and Potatoes USA, and is sponsored by Syngenta and Farm Credit.
