Winfield United agronomists offer detailed look at corn and soybean fields in eight states.

The Winfield United Agronomists issued the October crop progress report. The report details what is happening in eight states across the Midwest including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The biggest news is how far behind harvest 2019 really is compared to past years.

For example, Illinois only has 36% of corn and 52% of soybeans harvested. This is considerably behind the five-year averages for harvest progress at this point in the season (70% for corn and 68% for soybeans, respectively).

The report also encourages farmers to prepare for 2020 with fall herbicide applications and soil testing.
