The Minnesota Crop Improvement Association will convene its 120th annual meeting on Jan. 12 at the Bigwood Event Center in Fergus Falls.

Along with MCIA’s annual business meeting, the agenda will include an industry trade show and an awards luncheon.

MCIA is planning an informative program that will be of interest to seed producers, conditioners and others who work in agricultural industries. Roger Wippler, MCIA Foundation seed services manager, says the annual meeting is an excellent opportunity for seed producers and processors from around the state to meet and learn from one another, and hear the latest from industry experts.

The awards luncheon will include the presentation of the Premier and Honorary Premier Seed Grower awards and the Achievement in Crop Improvement Award. The Farmer magazine is a longtime sponsor of the achievement award.

MCIA invites early arrivals to a reception at the Bigwood Event Center the evening before the meeting. Association members will be joined at the reception by MCIA board members, field supervisors and administrative staff.

Registration forms and other meeting documents are available on the annual meeting page of the MCIA website.

Since 1903, MCIA has provided programs and services to meet the needs of an ever-changing agricultural world. These services include seed certification, organic certification, foundation seed production, and a variety of customized third-party verification programs for seed and identity-preserved grains.

MCIA operates from facilities on the University of Minnesota’s St. Paul campus, with field staff located throughout Minnesota.
