The winegrape industry doesn’t appear to be slowing down, and Washington producers are staking their claim as global market leaders. Keeping up with global competitors means bringing the best in management and research to the industry, and that’s the role of the 2018 Washington Winegrowers Convention and Trade Show.
The group, which changed its name from the Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers at last year’s convention, has pulled together a three-day event that includes an information-packed agenda. The event includes education and networking opportunities for the Northwest wine and grape industry, with an opportunity to see, taste and experience the region’s innovative approach.
This event includes a wide range of educational and research information opportunities. Sessions range from topics including “Red Winemaking: What’s New” to “Laboratory Design for Small Wineries.” In addition, there is a poster session highlighting the latest industry research.
The event will be highlighted by a report on state of the industry featuring Washington State University President Kirk Schultz. Other speakers include Mike Veseth, editor, The Wine Economist. There’s even a keynote address by futurist, inventor and hacker Pablos Holman, who takes a unique view into breaking and building new technologies.
Online registration for the event has closed, but onsite registration will be available. You can check out the event program at bit.ly/2018WWAConventionProgram for more details. For more information about Washington Winegrowers, visit wawinegrowers.org.
