The 14^th annual Middle Tennessee Grain Conference is set for Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Coffee County Fairgrounds in Manchester, Tenn. The conference, hosted by University of Tennessee Extension and Tennessee State University Cooperative Extension, will offer farmers practical insight and Real. Life. Solutions. to a number of emerging corn, soybean and wheat production concerns.

In 2018, more than 250 people from 25 counties in Tennessee and two adjoining states gathered to learn more about their industry, gaining new knowledge or practices they intended to use during the upcoming growing season.

This year’s conference will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5. Registration is $10 and preregistration is available through UT-TSU Extension county offices. Registration fees cover the cost of program materials, refreshments, lunch, conference proceedings and one conference hat per person.

The Middle Tennessee Grain Conference will feature more than 30 vendors who will showcase what is new and useful in the agricultural industry.

At 8:30 a.m. the conference will begin, and a slate of speakers will address timely topics and practices associated with corn, wheat and soybean production.

Lunch will be catered by Christy “Q” BBQ and is sponsored by the Tennessee Farmers Cooperative.

Following the meal, keynote speaker Bryon Parman, assistant professor and agricultural finance specialist at North Dakota State University, will discuss “Input Costs and Profitability in a Declining Market.”

Following the end of the conference and starting promptly at 3 p.m., there will be an opportunity to attend the Dicamba Certification Training. This new training is a requirement for producers intending to apply XtendiMAXX or Enginea products on Xtend soybeans and/or cotton. Cost of the training is an additional $25 per person to be paid on-site at the time of training.
