Registration is now open for “Crops, Covers and Cows,” a cover crop and grazing tour that will be held July 23. The event is from 4-7 p.m. at Menoken Farm, Burleigh County Soil Conservation District’s conservation demonstration site east of Bismarck, N.D.

The three featured speakers for “Crops, Covers and Cows” are:

  • Steve Groff. Groff farms in Lancaster County, Pa., and is the founder of Cover Crop Solutions, a national cover crop seed business.

  • Justin Zahradka. Zahradka farms and ranches with his wife, Molly, near Lawton, N.D. They own and operate Coop & Poop.

  • Aaron Steckler. Steckler farms and ranches with his parents near St. Anthony, N.D., and is a supervisor for the Morton County Soil Conservation District.

This cover crop and grazing tour is sponsored by Burleigh County SCD; Morton County SCD, Natural Resources Conservation Service; and the North Dakota Grazing Lands Coalition.

There is no cost to attend, but organizers request that you register by July 17 so they can order the right amount of food for dinner. To register, contact the Burleigh County SCD office at 701-250-4518, ext. 3, or email Cindy at [email protected].
