Apply for a Nebraska Cattlemen Foundation Scholarship

Eleven scholarships worth $1,000 will be awarded; deadline to apply is March 1.

The Nebraska Cattlemen Foundation is accepting applications for scholarships which are available to qualified youth in Nebraska who have an interest in the beef industry.  These scholarships will be awarded for the 2013-2014 academic year and are provided through contributions received by the Nebraska Cattlemen Foundation. Scholarships of $1,000 maximum are available from the following NCF funds:

Robert E. Lute II Memorial
Frank and Shirley Sibert
Bell Heller Memorial
Donavan Yoachim Memorial
Colonel Melvin Huss Memorial
Ron and Shirley Huss
Clarence and Lois Jean Hartmann
Vance Uden Memorial (UNL Senior Livestock Evaluation Team Member)
Nebraska Cattlemen Beef Pit (Meat or Food Science Major)
Martin Viersen Range Management/Conservation Memorial (Range Management Major)
Retail Value Steer Challenge Scholarships

Scholarship recipients must be a high school senior or college student, have a "C" or higher grade point average, and be enrolled or intending to enroll full time in any college or university that offers a bachelor degree, an approved vocation or trade school, or a state accredited junior college.

Preference will be given to students attending a Nebraska institute of higher learning and preference will be given to students majoring in an agricultural field of study.  Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, beef industry involvement and goals and quality of application.

Applications can be obtained by calling the NCF office at 402-475-2333. Applications are due March 1, 2013.

The Nebraska Cattlemen Foundation was created in 1968 to advance the future of Nebraska's Beef Industry by investing in research and education programs.
