The annual Cotton Tour Field Day will return to the West Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center, Jackson, Tenn., on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

The tour will offer multiple educational presentations designed to improve cotton production for the region’s farmers. Pesticide CEUs and CCA points will be available.

Registration for the Cotton Tour begins at 8 a.m. in the center’s lobby. Field tours begin at 8:30 and will conclude at noon, followed by a complementary lunch.

Topics of interest will include a demonstration on variety performance, an update on LibertyLink weed management, application timing, insect management and an overview of planned cover crop research.

Admission to the Cotton Tour is free and open to the public. A complete schedule will be posted at http://west.tennessee.edu/events.

The West Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center is one of 10 research facilities operated by the UT Institute of Agriculture. In addition to its agricultural research programs, UTIA also provides instruction research and public service through the UT College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, the UT College of Veterinary Medicine and UT Extension offices in every county in the state.
