Georgia peanut farmers started digging their fields, and some were already rolling big with harvest, too, during the 29th annual Georgia Peanut Tour, the time of year when the industry opens up to show how the world’s highest-quality peanuts get produced.
Here’s what the 180 attendees on the tour saw, heard and talked about on the first day, which centered this year around Thomasville, Ga., near the Florida-Georgia line.
