Rand Merchant, a Texas A&M weed science graduate research assistant, could use a little help.

He wants to know what weed management systems farmers are commonly using in the state. He also wants to get some information on the current state of glyphosate resistance.

Go back to yellows for resistant weed control in cotton

“Glyphosate-resistant Palmer amaranth is becoming a new reality in the Texas High Plains,” Merchant says. “This pest has already caused costly impacts on cotton production in the Southeast and Mid-south. As part of our efforts to reduce its impact to cotton production in our area, we are conducting a survey to determine weed management systems commonly used by our growers.”

The survey is available on the link below. “Simply enter the password ‘pigweed’ and the survey should take approximately 5 to 10 minutes to complete,” he says. “We ask that you please forward this link and password to growers so that we get the best participation possible.  Please contact meat at [email protected] if you have any questions.  Thank you for your help.”
