AgriLife Extension specialists will discuss timely topics at Americot field day Sept. 24.

Americot, Inc. will host a field day on Tuesday, September 24 beginning at 10 a.m. and ending with a barbecue lunch.  The field day will be held at the Agri-Search research farm located about 4 miles west of Edmonson, Texas, on Hwy 194 (about 15 miles west of Plainview) in northern Hale County.

Americot will be showcasing their commercial NexGen variety lineup as well as some experimental lines bred for the High Plains and Rolling Plains regions.

Texas AgriLife Extension specialists will discuss relevant agronomic issues. Dr. Wayne Keeling will discuss cotton weed control and upcoming herbicide technologies; Dr. Jason Woodward will review cotton disease and nematode control; and Dr. Mark Kelley will review the 2013 season and options for harvest aid applications.
