Danny Kornegay, farmer from Princeton, N.C., was named the winner of the $15,000 prize and free use of an AGCO tractor for a year that goes with the Southeastern Farmer of the Year.

Besides hundreds of exhibitors the Sunbelt Expo features field demonstrations of cotton, peanut, soybean and hay harvesting equipment on its 600 acres near Moultrie in south Georgia.

This year’s Expo also saw an appearance by Zippy Duvall, president of the Georgia Farm Bureau, who is running for national president of the organization following AFBF President Bob Stallman’s announcement he would not run for re-election.
