Lifecycle Inventory providing answers about cotton sustainability

How many pairs of slacks or polo shirts does the average consumer own? How many times do they wear a garment before laundering it? Answers to these questions and more are being generated by the sustainability portion of a new cotton industry program called “Vision 21.” The project, which is funded by Monsanto and John Deere, is aimed at providing concrete answers to questions about the energy footprint of cotton. Cotton Incorporated’s Kim Kitchings talked about the latest findings during an interview at the Beltwide Cotton Conferences in Atlanta.
