Texas high Plains cotton harvest is undergoing at least a few days’ rain delay following heavy rainfall earlier this week, according to a report from Plains Cotton Growers, Inc.

The West Texas Mesonet Boys Ranch station, located about 40 miles northwest of Amarillo, recorded almost 8 inches of rain in a 72-hour period. The station at Muleshoe recorded almost 4 inches. Every Mesonet station in the PCG service area recorded at least 1 inch of rain this week.

Some rain came with severe weather but damage assessments have not been made. For the full report as well as the latest information from classing offices check the PCG archives.
