H.W. "Kip" Butts, senior cotton analyst and director of energy services with Informa Economics, will be the featured speaker for the Ag Market Network’s free cotton market teleconference at 7:30 a.m. CDT on May 11.

Butts, who will discuss the latest USDA Supply and Demand and Crop Production Reports, will be joined by a panel of cotton experts who will discuss global cotton production, crop conditions, domestic demand, exports, and government policy.

Butts will also review the latest developments and the impact on cotton prices of the auction of an estimated 9 million bales from the Chinese cotton reserve that was scheduled to begin during May.

The panel of experts will include Dr. O. A. Cleveland, professor emeritus at Mississippi State University, Dr. Johnson Robinson, professor and Extension specialist/cotton marketing at Texas A & M University, Jarral Neeper, president, Calcot, Ltd. and Patrick McClatchy, executive director, Ag Market Network.
