The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service has scheduled a Cotton Production Meeting for producers on Friday, Feb. 4. The meeting will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude around noon at the Lon Mann Cotton Research Station on Highway 1 south of Marianna. Lunch will be provided.

Speakers and topics include:

  • Ken Smith, weed scientist -- weed control (resistant-weed management)

  • Gus Lorenz, entomologist -- insect control

  • Tom Barber, cotton agronomist -- cotton varieties (LibertyLink and Roundup)

  • Leo Espinoza, soil specialist -- water management

  • Scott Stiles, economist-risk management -- marketing

  • Subodh Kulkarni, program associate/machinery -- soil compaction

  • Tiffany Davis – Lee County Conservation District update
