For planting in 2017, Deltapine® varieties will offer strong yield and fiber quality potential to growers, as well as a new tool for weed management that controls more weeds than any other system available today.

EPA has approved XtendiMax herbicide with VaporGrip Technology, a low-volatility dicamba herbicide, for in-crop use with Bollgard II® XtendFlex® cotton, pending state approvals. Growers now have the added benefit of the industry’s best weed control in high-performing Deltapine varieties.

Deltapine Bollgard II XtendFlex cotton varieties are tolerant to glyphosate, glufosinate and dicamba, which provides added choice and flexibility to growers to achieve a very effective weed management system. With a pre-emergence and post-emergence residual herbicide program that includes Warrant® Herbicide and now also the option of XtendiMax with VaporGrip Technology, growers will have a more efficient way to manage resistant weeds in their fields.

Monsanto recommends XtendiMax with VaporGrip Technology, which is designed to be the industry’s lowest volatility dicamba formulation, for use in Bollgard II XtendFlex cotton. VaporGrip™ Technology is a proprietary technology that can help significantly reduce dicamba volatility compared to commercially available dicamba products.

XtendiMax with VaporGrip Technology can offer up to 14 days of soil activity* on certain small-seeded broadleaf weeds to help traditional residual herbicides keep fields clean. The formulation is designed specifically for in-crop use with Bollgard II® XtendFlex® cotton.

Effective weed management is one step to preserving yield potential of a cotton variety, and based on 2016 performance across the Cotton Belt, Deltapine Bollgard II XtendFlex varieties offer strong performance and outstanding fiber quality.

“In 2016, more acres of Deltapine varieties were planted across the U.S. Cotton Belt than any other cottonseed brand,” said Dave Albers, Cotton Product Development Manager at Monsanto. “Based on the outstanding performance of those varieties and now, the availability of XtendiMax™ herbicide with VaporGrip™ Technology, we expect interest in Deltapine varieties with XtendFlex technology to continue to grow.”

Always use dicamba with traditional residual herbicides in pre-emergence and postemergence applications that have different, effective sites of action, along with other Diversified Weed Management Practices.

ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS FOR USE ON PESTICIDE LABELING.  IT IS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL AND STATE LAW to use any pesticide product other than in accordance with its labeling.  NOT ALL formulations of dicamba or glyphosate are approved for in-crop use with Bollgard II® XtendFlex® or XtendFlex® cotton.  ONLY USE FORMULATIONS THAT ARE SPECIFICALLY LABELED FOR SUCH USES AND APPROVED FOR SUCH USE IN THE STATE OF APPLICATION. DICAMBA FORMULATIONS MAY NOT BE APPROVED IN ALL STATES. Contact the U.S. EPA and your state pesticide regulatory agency with any questions about the approval status of dicamba herbicide products for in-crop use with Bollgard II® XtendFlex® or XtendFlex® cotton.

Bollgard II® XtendFlex® cotton contains genes that confer tolerance to glyphosate, dicamba and glufosinate. Glyphosate will kill crops that are not tolerant to glyphosate. Dicamba will kill crops that are not tolerant to dicamba. Glufosinate will kill crops that are not tolerant to glufosinate.  Contact your Monsanto dealer or refer to Monsanto’s Technology Use Guide for recommended weed control programs.
