Cotton Incorporated is hosting its 2012 Crop Management Seminar to give crop consultants, producers and cotton researchers a forum to discuss events of the current growing season, exchange ideas and share information. The CMS will be held in Tunica, Miss., on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Nov. 7-9.

This year’s seminar includes hands-on workshops on COTMANand irrigation management. “We have seen a continuing increase in irrigated acres in the Mid-South and Southeast, and for good reason. In some years, just an extra inch of water at the right time can add at least 50 pounds of fiber per acre by the end of the growing season,” said Ed Barnes, director of Agricultural and Environmental Research for Cotton Incorporated. All participants in the workshop will be provided a new 60-page reference document on Cotton Irrigation Management for Humid Regions that will be ready just in time for the workshop.
