Mid-South ginners who completed the National Cotton Ginners Association certification training were recognized at the annual meeting of the Southern Cotton Ginners Association. The Cotton Ginner Certification Program has continued to grow since its inception in 1992, according to Richard Kelley, NCGA president, and more than 300 ginners are actively participating in that program.  Earning certification requires extensive class work and exams, along with in-the-gin instruction. A fifth ginner who earned certification, Juan Martinez, Farmers Union Gin, Senath, Mo., wasn't present.
