U.S. cottonseed companies are continuing to spend millions of dollars in developing higher yielding cotton varieties, although U.S. cotton acres have been on the wane. With cotton prices trending higher and acres potentially increasing, growers are turning their attention to what to plant in 2010. Dave Rhylander talked about Monsanto/Delta and Pine’s new offerings in this interview at the Mid-South Farm and Gin Show. Rhylander likens the new varieties to the change that occurred when Deltapine 555 or “Triple Nickel” was introduced.
