Though dozens of exhibitors, industry reps and Extension specialists provide useful information for attendees at the Sunbelt Ag Expo Field Day each year, there were a few particularly interesting things said at this year’s event.

The Sunbelt Agriculture Expo Field Day, held July 14 this year, is about the South’s top row crops and is the best time and place to see the latest crop technologies, products and research taking place at the farm. It all happens in an half-day visit.

“The crops and research plots look good. We had some setbacks at planting like many farmers in the area, but all-in-all this is one of the best starts we’ve had in recent years,” said Michael Chafin, who has been the manager of the Darrell Williams Research Farm on the Expo grounds in Moultrie, Ga., for the last five growing season.

The field day is also a showcase of the crops to be harvested during the Sunbelt Ag Expo, which will be Oct. 18-20 this year.
