Dr. Tyson Raper, cotton and small grains specialist, Department of Plant Sciences, UT Extension, has released the 2018 Tennessee Cotton Variety Trial Results.

The UT Cotton Agronomy Program conducts an unbiased annual evaluation of experimental and commercial varieties available for production in Tennessee each year.

“Our program consisted of two types of trials: Official Variety Trials (OVTs), and the County Standard Trials (CSTs),” explains Raper. “The OVTs are small plot and replicated variety trials located on producer farms, or on Ag Research or Education Centers, and are composed of experimental and commercial varieties. The CSTs are large plot variety trials located throughout the Western and Central regions of the state and are composed only of major commercial cultivars.”
