2008 was not a good year to be in the cotton ginning business. Acreage dropped so much that year that some gins didn’t open and others wondered whether they should have. Holmes Gin weathered the storm and came back full force, ginning 74,000 bales in 2011. James Killebrew talked about the turnaround and his excitement at being named Ginner of the Year in this interview at the Mid-South Farm and Gin Show in Memphis.
