Equipment Technologies, maker of the Apache line of self-propelled sprayers, has announced the launch of its 2006 product line. New to the line up are the AS 710 and AS 1010.

The AS 710 is a 750-gallon unit that features a 42-inch crop clearance, a 120-inch fixed axle, a six-cylinder 155-horsepower John Deere engine and the four-speed JCB power shift transmission.

The AS 1010 is sold with either a 850- or 1,000-gallon tank, the option of 36-inch, 42-inch or 48-inch crop clearance, an adjustable 120-inch to 144-inch adjustable axle, a six-cylinder 205-horsepower Cummins engine and a six-speed JCB power-shift transmission — the same engineering as the four-speed now available with six ranges.

Chad Ringer, lead engineer at Equipment Technologies, says, “The AS 710 is a new addition to our line — but it features the same tried and true components common to our other three sprayer models, such as the mechanical drive train, our patented hydraulic suspension, and the custom cab known for it's outstanding visibility.”

Ringer also addressed the new AS 1010, stating “the AS 1010 is effectively a consolidation of last year's AS 850 and AS 1000. We have taken the best of both and made the JCB six-speed transmission a standard feature. The new transmission has been in testing for over two years and promises to offer excellent performance and optimal power ranges during operation.”

When asked to sum up what the company has accomplished, Matt Hays, CEO, stated, “We have simply configured our same tried and true components in a manner that offers the most product performance at very competitive prices.”

New on all four models (AS 510, AS 710, AS 1010, AS 1210) is a re-designed operator's console for improved comfort and ease of operation.

Other new enhancements include:

  • Adjusted angle on the brake pedal and steering column to reduce driver fatigue.

  • Improved braking for a 25 percent reduction in the stopping effort.

  • A single piece, urethane sound deadening floor mat to reduce in-cab noise.

  • External battery posts.

  • Angled quick fill attachments.

  • External product pump switch.

  • New inductor latching mechanism for operator ease.

  • Additional grab handle for easier cab access.

  • Two more knockouts in the cab for accessory wiring.
