South Dakota State releases early-season corn hybrid data

BEST YIELDS: SDSU early maturity corn hybrid yield trial results are in from six locations in South Dakota.

The results are in from the South Dakota State University 2018 Corn Hybrid Yield Trials for glyphosate-resistant corn.

The highest yield in the test of early-maturing hybrids was 280 bushels per acre at South Shore, S.D., for Federal Hybrids 4990 VT2P.

Yields dropped off 25 to 50 bushels from the highest to the lowest at several of the trial location. Trials were conducted at Bancroft, Bath, Beresford, Miller, South Shore and Volga.
