New Dekalb corn available for the Dakotas

Dekalb has 23 new corn hybrids for 2021, including several especially for South Dakota and North Dakota.

Twenty-three new Dekalb corn products will be available across all maturity groups in 2021.

New products for South Dakota include DKC39-55RIB, DKC45-95RIB and DKC48-95RIB brand blends.

New products for North Dakota include DKC36-48RIB, DKC36-86RIB and DKC39-55RIB brand blends.

“Every Dekalb product we offer is designed to help farmers enhance profitability and realize a future of performance across their fields,” says Kathleen McKittrick, Dekalb corn brand manager.

DeKalb’s 2021 national lineup includes 17 DeKalb Disease Shield products in the 93- to 120-day relative maturity geographies. These products offer protection against the five most yield-robbing corn diseases without sacrificing yield potential, she says.

The diseases are anthracnose stalk rot, Goss’s wilt, gray leaf spot, northern corn leaf blight and, in certain maturities, southern rust.

All products include the Acceleron Seed Applied Solutions Elite with enhanced disease control at no additional cost. The seed treatment is designed to improve and extend early-to-midseason disease control by reducing infections from pathogens.

Silage lineup

The Dekalb brand portfolio includes 35 corn silage products for 2021. The lineup includes products from 80- to 120-day relative maturity. Included is a category of Silage Proven products, which meet a high standard of nutritional value of milk per ton and milk per acre and percentage starch.

“These products offer outstanding digestibility, nutritional quality and high-tonnage potential,” McKittrick says. “They are developed and grown in the top dairy-producing regions and hand-selected from the breeding pipeline as the best silage products in our lineup to deliver maximum milk production.”
