Kansas Corn members have accepted leadership roles with the National Corn Growers Association, the U.S. Grains Council and the Kansas Corn Commission.

Kansas Corn is well-represented in NCGA leadership with Dennis McNinch serving on the Corn Board and five Kansas corn leaders serving on NCGA action teams and committees. Growers apply for these national positions through their state association, Kansas Corn CEO Greg Krissek says. Several leaders also serve on USGC teams.

“You don’t have to be a board member to apply for a position on an NCGA action team,” Krissek says. “In fact, we have two young growers serving on action teams who are not Kansas Corn Growers Association board members or Kansas Corn commissioners. We also have several leaders serving on U.S. Grains Council advisory teams.”

Kansas corn producers chosen to serve on NCGA action teams and USGC advisory committees are:

Lowell Neitzel, Lawrence. Neitzel is chair of the NCGA Membership and Consumer Engagement Action Team. He is a graduate of the Kansas Corn Corps young grower program.

Randy Small, Neodesha. Small is a member of the NCGA Market Development Action Team. He serves on the KCC.

Garrett Kennedy, Gypsum. Kennedy is a member of the NCGA Stewardship Action Team. He is a graduate of the Kansas Corn Corps young grower program.

Chad Epler, Columbus. Epler is a member of the NCGA Resolutions Committee and the USGC Innovation and Sustainability Advisory Team. He serves on the KCGA board.

Dennis McNinch, Utica. McNinch is a member of the NCGA board, NCGA Stewardship Action Team, NCGA Finance Committee and USGC Trade Policy Advisory Team. He serves on the KCC.

Brent Rogers, Hoxie. Rogers is a member of the USGC Innovation and Sustainability Advisory Team. He is president of KCGA.

Kent Moore, Iuka. Moore is a member of the USGC Asia Advisory Team. He is KCC chairman and serves on the KCGA board.

J.D. Hanna, Silver Lake. Hanna is a member of the USGC Middle East/Africa/South Asia Advisory Team. He serves on the KCGA board.

Pat Ross, Lawrence. Ross is a member of the USGC Value-Added Advisory Team. He serves on the KCC.

Terry Vinduska, Marion. Vinduska is a member of the USGC Western Hemisphere Advisory Team. He serves on the KCC and is past chairman of the USGC.

Greg Krissek, Manhattan. Krissek is a member of the NCGA Agri-Industry Council Executive Committee and the USGC Middle East/Africa/South Asia Advisory Team. He is Kansas Corn CEO.

KCC leadership

Kent Moore was recently elected chairman of the Kansas Corn Commission. The commission reelected Randy Small as vice chairman; Steve Rome, Hugoton, as secretary; and Pat Ross as treasurer. The KCGA elects officers following its annual meeting in January.

The KCC is made up of grower-elected farmers who administer the 1-cent-per-bushel Kansas corn checkoff. The KCGA is a member-led organization that represents its members in legislative and regulatory issues and advocates for corn.
