Meteorologist Drew Lerner, with World Weather, Inc., provided an optimistic prediction for fall weather in the Mid-South this year when he spoke at the recent Brock Decision 2010 Seminar in Memphis. Provided a hurricane doesn’t throw a wrench into the equation, he’s projecting drier and warmer weather for harvest and the potential for another cold winter, but not quite as cold as last year.

“We could see an earlier than usual chance of an early frost in the Mid-South and Southeast, but crops should be mature by then, and harvest in the Mid-South will proceed quickly,” Lerner said.

Brock Decisions was sponsored by Brock Associates, Monsanto, Helena, Rabo AgriFinance and Delta Farm Press.
