Dairyland Seed recently announced the release of 16 new corn hybrids for the 2017 planting season. Each of these varieties can be seen at research tours and field days throughout the Midwest this fall. The descriptions of the new products follow:
DS-9085 85 RM
Consistent multi-year yield performance. Performs east to west and features fast drydown. Solid agronomics. Top-end yield potential. Great health package.
DS-6686 & DS-1686 86 RM
New GT and conventional hybrids exhibiting top-end yield potential. Performs east to west. Semiflex ear provides population flexibility. Solid agronomics. Fast drydown in the fall.
DS-9787RA 87 RM
Stable, workhorse style of hybrid. Consistent performance east to west. Strong stalk and root package. Features fast drydown. Fantastic drought tolerance. Versatile hybrid that will handle a variety of soil types.
DS-6091 & DS-1091 91 RM
New RR2 and conventional hybrids with excellent grain quality and awesome test weight. Tall hybrid with top-end yield potential. Semiflex ear provides population flexibility. Flowers early, finishes fast. Quick out of the ground with strong early vigor. Recommend fungicide for NCLB.
DS-6593 93 RM
New hybrid that provides top-end yields with workhorse stability. Features fast drydown and fantastic drought tolerance. Versatile hybrid that will handle a variety of soil types. Best performance as a mid-to full-season hybrid. Shows favorable response to fungicide application.
DS-7294 94 RM
Racehorse style of hybrid that brings top-end yields. Excellent east to west performance. Excellent grain quality and test weight. Showy with excellent staygreen. Prefers deep soils and high-fertility environments. Strong northern movement.
DS-6802 & DS-1802 102/100 RM
New RR2 and conventional high-yielding set of genetics. Outstanding stalk and root strength. Strong foliar health package including Goss¹s and NCLB. Girthy, flex-style ear. Tall, dark green, upright plant type. Rockets out of the ground, good choice for cold, wet soils.
HiDF-3103RA 103 SM
Rugged silage hybrid can handle variable conditions. Top-end tonnage potential. Good drought stress. Excellent foliar health package including NCLB. Good choice for corn-on-corn and no-till. Solid digestibility numbers.
DS-1106 106/104 RM
New conventional with stable yields across environments. Outstanding foliar health package, including Goss¹s wilt. Rugged plant that can handle variable conditions. Very nice grain quality and test weight. Great choice for corn-on-corn and no-till. DS-6206 style hybrid with more yield potential.
HiDF-3407RA 107 SM
Exciting new silage hybrid release. Rugged hybrid can handle variable conditions. High tonnage potential. Solid overall digestibility. Good drought tolerance. Good choice for no-till and corn-on-corn.
