Ten students to receive Missouri Corn Scholarships in 2007.

The Missouri Corn Scholarship Committee recently announced its 2007 recipients of Missouri Corn Scholarships. Each student will receive a $750 scholarship from the Missouri Corn Growers Association and the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council to help pay for their continuing education.

Winners of the 2007 Missouri Corn Scholarships for graduating high school seniors are:
- Emily Brunk, Emden, to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia
- Matthew Knight, Appleton City, to attend State Fair Community College
- Dylan Rosier, Mound City, to attend Northwest Missouri State University
- Jason Reichert, Brunswick, to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia
- Jacob Hensiek, Carrollton, to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia
- Kayla Bloemendaal, Mendon, to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia
- Ethan Beck, Chillicothe, to attend North Central Missouri College
- Robert Williams, Richmond, to attend North Central Missouri College
- Bailey Farrell, Bolivar, to attend College of the Ozarks
- William Gorrell, Napton, to attend Northwest Missouri State University.

"With a record number of outstanding applications, we awarded 10 scholarships this year, an increase from seven in previous years," says Kenny McNamar, Missouri Corn Scholarship Committee chairman and farmer from Gorin. "Our goal is to help these young people receive an education that will allow them to be successful in the agricultural industry."

High school applicants must be in their senior year, and be Missouri residents from a Missouri farm or rural area. They must also plan to attend a two-year or four-year Missouri college and major in agronomy or related subject. College applicants must also be from a Missouri farm or rural area, and be a junior enrolled in a Missouri four-year college or university majoring in the field of agronomy or related subject.
