Word on the street is there will be many more corn refuge checks in 2012 in cotton growing regions. This is due to decreasing compliance over the last couple of years.

However, it is getting so complicated that one grower told me this week as I explained it to him: “Forget it, it is easier for me to just put cotton on those 500 acres I was going to put in corn.”

So here is the challenge for cotton growing regions.
