“Records are made to be broken” is among the talks on the agenda for the annual Corn and Grain Sorghum Producer Conference, which will be held in two locations this year: Tuesday in Jonesboro and Thursday in Dumas.

Tuesday’s meeting (Jan. 8) will be held at the Arkansas State University Alumni Center in Jonesboro, and Thursday’s meeting (Jan. 10) will be held at the Dumas Community Center. Registration at both locations opens at 8:30 and the program runs from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

“With explosion in corn acres and interest in sorghum, we are presenting the conference twice, with the same information at both the Jonesboro and Dumas locations,” said Jason Kelley, Extension corn and grain sorghum agronomist for the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture.

“Our meetings will include talks that won’t be heard at county meetings,” he said. “We also have the winner of the National Corn Growers yield contest from Georgia who will talk about how he has been able to grow more than 350-bushel-per-acre corn.”
