Corn Herbicides Released

Syngenta Crop Protection has received EPA registration for two new pre-emergence corn herbicides.

Lumax, a one-pass, pre-emergence, is registered for use on field corn, seed corn and corn grown for silage. It will be available in the northern Corn Belt and in triazine-resistant weed areas of the Delmarva peninsula and southern Pennsylvania for the 2003 use season. The herbicide controls major annual broadleaves and grasses.

Camix is a new, pre-emergence herbicide that offers control of grass and broadleaf weeds in corn, including several resistant weed biotypes. An unrestricted herbicide, Camix does not contain atrazine, so it is suited for growers in atrazine-restricted areas or those who prefer not to use atrazine. It's available for the 2003 season.
