CSD Contributing Editor Larry Stalcup attended the No-Till on the Plains Points North Bus Tour (#PNT12) in South Dakota recently. He had a chance to talk to Ray Ward, who farms near Kearney, Neb., and is owner of Ward Laboratories, a soil- and plant-testing lab. Ward encourages growers to make a no-till commitment to help enhance their corn, soybean and other crop production. He says no-till can be improved by diversifying rotation and using cover crops. Ward also talks about what types of cover crops can be planted.
