Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack gave the opening remarks at the Global Farmer Town Hall Meeting on Sustainable Agriculture and Biodiversity Practices, one of a number of side events to the World Food Prize ceremonies recently in Des Moines, IA. The Town Hall Meeting was held on the campus of Iowa State University and was attended by a number of students. Vilsack talked about the choice of agriculture as a career field and Norman Borlaug’s legacy, as creator of the World Food Prize.
