The National Association of Conservation Districts announced the 2017 poster and photo contests winners at the organization’s 72nd Annual Meeting on Jan. 28.
Each year, the NACD and NACD Auxiliary photo and poster contests give students and adults the opportunity to display their artistic talents on a national stage.
Over 250 kindergarten through 12th-grade students from more than 30 states submitted “Healthy Soils are Full of Life!” themed posters for the 2017 NACD poster contest.
In the fourth grade through sixth grade poster contest division, Elli Marie Pitcher, of the Erie Soil and Water Conservation District in Ohio, took third place behind first-place winner Xinyi Zhang, of the New Jersey Association of Conservation Districts, and second-place winner Kailee Hardin, of the Marion Soil and Water Conservation District in Illinois.
