After a meeting of committee chairmen with jurisdiction over climate and energy legislation, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announces that the Senate will not seek to finish climate change legislation until spring 2010, after health care and the financial regulatory reform are complete.

The Senate Finance Committee has jurisdiction over crucial areas, including the formula for allocating cap-and-trade emission credits to businesses.
