You would think that headwinds in the ag economy would be slowing land values. Land is still selling at highs, but there are signs that it is leveling off.
With interest rates higher and corn prices lower, it is easy to see that the highs in the market have probably been reached. Marketing time right now for farmland is six to eight weeks.
The following are a few of the most recent sales in Nebraska, with reports coming from BigIron Realty, Agri Affiliates, Lashley Land and Farmers National Co:
Southwest
Lincoln County. A total of 40 acres of cropland sold for $370,000. This property features great terrain, surrounded by a robust farming community. — Compliments of BigIron Realty
Central
Buffalo County. A total of 145.26 acres sold for $692,000. This farm consists of good-quality, dry cropland that is bisected by a rail line of the Burlington Northern Railroad and heavily wooded along Mud Creek. — Compliments of Agri Affiliates
Custer County. A total of 1,649.40 acres sold for $3,668,260. An excellent ranch, it is rangeland with few cedar trees or weeds. The long-term tenant has kept up with cedar removal and has sprayed weeds annually. — Compliments of Lashley Land
North
Keya Paha County. A total of 159.9 acres sold for $3,668,260. This is a stunning recreation property located south of Springview. This property offers deep, timbered draws — with creeks, high ridges with exceptional views and several nice open areas. It includes a good mix of ponderosa pine, hardwoods and cedar trees. This property is accessible, yet secluded, offering deer and turkey hunting, and an occasional elk wandering through the property. — Compliments of Farmers National Co.
