It was time to pack up the buggy and head south to spread the gospel. The miles are long, and the traffic was heavy with frequent delays.

Needing to get the trailer turned around at fuel and food stops is always a challenge. Then there’s the time needed for a night’s rest and figuring out where to stop.

Price always plays a role, along with safety. All hotels are different, some peaceful and some clean. Others have full-time tenants that like to make lots of late-night noise. There are places where even the vehicle can be compromised.

We had a cement block thrown at our truck window to gain access, although the alarm thwarted that. It did give us an opportunity to meet the local police. We prayed with them for their safety and thanked them for their service.

Finding good places to stop for fuel and food is also challenging. There hasn’t been much winning lately with diesel prices. Making the right choices on the road can save plenty of time; making the wrong choices can add lots of frustration and lost time. 

We are always on a tight schedule to get to events and farm shows with enough time for setup. The recently concluded SunBelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, Ga., was a huge success for us with more than 4,500 people stopping by our tent to check us out. All of this to share the gospel.

Remember all the struggles the apostle Paul went through in the New Testament. He was beaten, jailed and even shipwrecked. We are blessed compared to his adventures.

The best things are all the people who share their lives with us, the places that provide complimentary lodging and meals, and the helping hands and words of encouragement.

So, through The Fellowship of Christian Farmers and lots of volunteers, the gospel goes forth. We’d love to have you join us.
