PURE CREATIVITY: Why let old poles and wires go to waste when you can use them to create an “electrifying” mailbox? David Hedrick

Spotted … in Indiana is about finding unusual, humorous things Hoosiers display along the highways and byways of Indiana. David Hedrick, St. Paul, is proving he has a keen sense of observation and a “shocking” sense of humor.

He’s back again with another mailbox he spotted, this time in the 2000 block of Indiana State Highway 3 in Decatur County, north of Greensburg. To prove that he started the play on words with this mailbox photo, here is his message accompanying the photo.

“My son told me about an electrifying mailbox installation,” Hedrick says. “I was shocked to find this mailbox along Indiana 3.”

Shocked indeed! The mailbox shows the kind of creativity and ingenuity Hoosiers display all over the state. Often, they like to share what they create by placing it where others can see it.

Have you spotted something unusual in your area? Step up your powers of observation, and if you haven’t seen something out-of-the-ordinary already, you should soon. They’re here and there, everywhere, all over the state.

If you find something unique or humorous in your travels, send us a digital, horizontal, large-format image. If it is used in the column, you will receive a gift card for your efforts. Send it to [email protected]. You can also send a high-quality print to P.O. Box 247, Franklin, IN 46131. As always, happy spotting!
